What was incredible was that despite everyone universally mocking him, he carried on trying to evangelise everyone that would listen for... 2 years? Somehow no one ever stopped being friends with him for it, but there were definitely lots of jokes at his expense.

even funnier is that he came from an absurdly rich family. like his grandfather's house had a garage, and an olympic-sized pool equipped with an ice cream bar kind of rich. this is Singapore, which means that house alone was at least high 8-digits.

Last I heard, he's doing a data science job after graduating from Imperial College in London. Amusingly enough, a girl I once hooked up with matched with him on Tinder. He was one of those complete anon profiles (black profile pic etc) looking for an NSA arrangement.
